I just discovered I have atleast one of the filthy rotten disease infested things, it/they chewed into my furnace room. I went and bought a box of poison pellets, box of poison cakes, 12 sticky traps, and 12 neck breaking traps. I spent over 2 hours today placing cheese and peanut butter on the traps and putting them around where I think they might be traveling. Placing sticky traps at the opening and exits of all the holes I found and placed the neck breakers right beside them. Then I littered the ground under my trailer with cakes and pellet bait feeders in various locations. Hopefully it will take care of the neighbors cats that crawl all over the hoods and roofs of my wagons too! I want the rotten thing or things dead and want it done yesterday, I will spare no expence to eliminate my living area of rodents. You should see the hole it chewed through my floor and it even chewed a good size chunk out of the metal furnace duct. My little dog has been going ape sh*t at night and I was wondering why, now I know he was tryin to get some rat meat. He has never gotten into the garbage in the 4 years since he was born, but 4 nights in a row, the lid was off the can and garbage was on the kitchen floor. Poor lil guy got his butt paddled each morning except this morning. I shut the bedroom door and he spent the night in here with us, yet the garbage was all over the kitchen again, so that is when I started looking around for signs of Rats and found them. I bought him a box of treats and have been loving him up all day, I feel guilty that I blamed and punished him for doing whet the rodent did. Rats, just a prime example of another worthless creation of God, right up there with Mosquitos, cockroaches, Lawyers and Politicians.

    BAD BF! BAD, BAD BF!
Never correct a dog for something it did yesterday or even 2 mins ago if you dind't actually catch it doing the deed. Dogs live in the moment and any praise or correction is understood for the very last thing it did.
    Example;
Your dog is in the trash, you call it to you and correct it. In the dog's mmind it was corrected for comming to you because that was the last thing it did.
Is the can lid very high or easy to get off? It may not be a rat. Raccoons are great at getting lids off.
Be very careful about letting the dog out anywhere it can get to the poison. My daughters dog was poisoned when the neighbor put out rat poison. Either a rat or the squirrels drug it over into her yard.
Sorry about dog training advice on a wagon forum. Just one of my hangups. :D

Well somehow my Wagon restoration thread turned into the RAT thread.
It's been a few days now and I thought the RAT had bugged out or worse died in my wagon somewhere, but that's NOT the case. Last night my wife went to throw out some trash and low and behold the RAT scared the be-Jesus out of her. So this morning was another trip to Home Depot for the glue packs and the big boy, the big RAT trap, that snaps heads off. It is armed with peanut butter and now I'm just waiting for the sun to go down. This RAT has got to go one way or another, if not the MRS may put a stop to the whole production. :rofl2: I can't have that, I'm in it way too deep to turn around now! :naughty:

Yall have a great Thanksgiving and I'll keep everyone posted.

The poison you put out should do the trick. But it takes awhile to put 'em down. Especially a rat. It will do the trick though. Did you use DeCon?

Well, FF...I think you had better let her do the loadin' up of that feeder. I'm not sure how an FF skin rug would look in your place. And the police would think it was an accident. You know....an honest mistake. :disagree:

I found a rat nest in the abyss of my trunk. I guess this is something to expect when a car sleeps in a barn for 20yrs.

    Here are some pictures http://fordtorino72.blogspot.com/2009/04/mouse-nest.html

Btw, my rat went away loading the car full of mothballs. Stinks as hell but it did work like a charm.

    Good luck (y)

Yeah....moth balls work but don't put them in the car or too near it. The smell never leaves.

Beautiful car CLASSIC! When it comes to Torino's you can't beat that '72 front end!!! PERIOD!!!

Silver, I went out tonight looking for my lil friend, but either she is shy or she is still sleeping because she isn't caught, but that doesn't mean she's gone. :naughty:

I think my lil friend is playing possom somewhere. :49:

I think it's safe to assume that the RAT problem has been taken care of.

I haven't seen any signs of it, but I haven't found it or smelled it either. :whew:

I worked on the door panels today. I lubed up all the door mechanicals on the inside of the doors and hot glued the thick mil plastic water shields I cut out the other day. Everything lined up well and all that is needed are new chrome door knobs and new window cranks that hopefully I'll purchase this week.

Yall remember what I started with? Click back to the previous posts. It's amazing what a lil vinyl dye paint and elbow grease will do.

GPD, that wagon is going to be amazing when you get it done. The door panels and new weather stripping make it look better than when it was new. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys I appreciate everything! I must say it does put a smile on my face when I go out to the garage and see it sitting there. It takes me back to when I was a kid and my Dad would work on the "original" wagon.

My oldest brother, who is now 45, stopped by yesterday and saw it and he just stared and stared. He kept saying, "Wow, the memories this brings back." If yall remember correctly he was the one that wrecked the "original" and put her out of commission some 27 years ago.

Today I stopped by Dallas Mustang and got the new chrome door knobs and I stopped by yesterday at O'reily's and Autozone and found the window cranks. They will all be going on this weekend I'm sure.
