Ok. I just took down the Mexican Garage - Tarp and old swingset posts and planks, and I gotta tell ya that this Tremclad Chestnut Brown is OUTSTANDING!!! It really looks like a color a Luxury Car would use, not a mid-compact. My wife was using her clothesline again (the tarp was in the way) and saying she didn't want one snowflake to fall on it. I think my stature went up a notch. From 'all men are dogs' to 'pure-bred dog'.
You did a fine job on the hatch.... Now you just need to fund a garage to keep the snow off that great looking wagon. A nice heater would be a good idea too. It's amazing what you can accomplish with the wife's support.
I gotta tell ya, it got 'sparky' here at times, during this car-chase to a restored beauty! But once the paint started going on, I got a 'raise in consciousness'. Yeah, she mentioned building a garage. I'll put up a picture of my own invention of a backyard gate. Think Gull-Wing doors. I still have to motorize them, but I balanced them to open manually - about 60 lbs each, in case the motor failed. We have an alley which really gets cleaned later in the day, after fresh snow. With a sliding gate, you have to clean the 'path' for it to slide. With swing gates, you have to clean the whole width of the alley to get out. With mine, you just lift, and go. Once I get the thing motorised (worm drive on both gates), I can just point the remote and drive in too.
Out there in 2 minutes until about 7:00 PM. When there's snow on the ground and the almost full moon, who needs lights. Aoogah!
Does you're wife ask you why you're laughing your a$$ off, when you read the posts? Mine does, and then I get tongue-tied trying to translate those 'big words' into Spanish!
I try to contain myself, but sometimes I just can't and then there's no peace until I tell her or she tries to read it and get the subtleties of the phrases.
Stormin, After All I have read if I wanted to to Spay paint my car with my sprayer, using the same ratio of paint mix. How well do you think this will work?
The original poster at the Moparts.org site did that to try it on his VW Beetle and looked fine! If you've got a garage, you'd be fine. Real thin coats, though. Check out those 8 documents on page 5 of this thread. I think he mentions it in the first or second section.
