1949 Fiat 500B Topolino Giardiniera for sale on BaT Auctions - ending November 25 (Lot #171,989) | Bring a Trailer I have never seen one of these.
Nor have most Italians. What I've never yet seen before is a stabilizer bar connected to a solid rear axle. I'm wondering if it's stock
Looks more like a torsion rod, perhaps acting to dampen the movement of the suspension? I don't see any shock absorbers, unless they're hidden behind those black vertical tube-thingies.
Huh? The shocks are plain to see. Their bottoms are directly bolted onto those spring shackles. That stabilizer bar is there to prevent excessive leaning on cornering. They're metalurgically equal to torsion bars, both being manufactured from spring steel
OK, I can see now that they're shocks. Looked like something different on my first look. Eyes getting old, I guess.....
