What is the story here? Why are they closing? It looks like there's a lot of dusty old stuff that they stashed in all of the nooks and crannies.

This is the second or third auction they’ve had there from what the guy told me when I was picking up stuff from an earlier auction. They lost their franchise back in 2008 and the two brothers rent it as a used car , and the other decided it’s time to move to Florida lot until last year when one of the brothers passed away, and the other decided it’s time to move to Florida

Man. 2008 was a rough year.
That wasn't an uncommon thing. There was a small family owned Chevrolet dealership here locally that did very well and was the preferred way to buy a chevy over the large corporate dealer for decades. When things went south in 2008 the small family dealership was told they were no longer a Chevrolet dealer. They tried to make a go of it for a number of years as a used car lot but they eventually closed their doors.

And not only that, GM et al. lost the goodwill of the local community that the small dealer was located.
