How old do the photos have to be to count here? I was scanning photos from my parents' stash of many pictures, and I think I found a photo that has a Clamshell Wagon in it.

This is probably the front yard of our house in Oakmont, Pennsylvania from a few years before I was born. The back of the photo says July 1987, but I think that's when the photo was developed.

If I find other pictures including Wagons that have never been scanned and posted online, I may post them here, too.

No rules here. Just use your own best judgement. The 70's is at least 45 years ago, and that's certainly a long time ago, so your pics of Clamshells are OK.

That poor ‘57 doesn’t look like it’s had its wheels clean in forever.

Thanks, but that photo's from 1986 / 1987. It has been over 35 years, so I suppose it's fine, but I was a bit uncertain.

I might, but I have no idea how many.

    True. Good shot there, too.

... Now I have another question. This is also not a street scene but it's in the back yard of my old house, so does it count? It does have a Wagon in my next door neighbor's yard, but I'm not sure what car it is.

I'm not sure which car my parents had on the right in our back yard, but the Oldsmobile is one of those 5.7 Diesels that my Dad had in the shop way too many times. He traded it in on the 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Estate Wagon a bit later.

Small story - my Mom was driving the Oldsmobile on Route 8 somewhere near Butler, Pennsylvania. A big bird, I don't know - an Ostrich? - ran out in front of the car. She stopped, and it just turned towards her and stared.

The ostrich probably wasn't used to dealing with Good Samaritans and was then wondering in dismay as to why your mom even bothered to stop, while others would have floored: https://thenewswheel.com/drivers-purposefully-swerve-hit-animals-on-road/

Back yards have counted, ever sice this thread was started. By the way, thanks for sharing :D

Any old photos are cool, I just have trouble admitting that cars that came out the year I graduated high school are vintage. upload_2024-6-18_8-17-5.png
