Wasn't the last year for the Stovebolt in a 'vette '54? Not that it was a bad engine, though overly-heavy and generally antiquated. It just seems awkward that they never considered contracting that engine out, in order to get at least one overhead camshaft thrown on or something to distinguish it from the rest of Chevrolet's humdrum. Even poverty-stricken Nash went to such lengths
If things go right I’ll be working with a local family to bring one out of storage and finish the restoration. They have a collection that’s been hiding for over 30 years. There will be some beauties for sale. Not that one tho.

They were playing catch up with the Thunderbird. Using what was on hand. The people I’ve met that own them say they’re only fun to drive for a few minutes. The v-8’s came in the next generation I think, along with something other than the Saginaw 3 speed. I love the 235 in my wagon it’s got more power that one might think.
the owner hasn’t let anyone other than his brother/mechanic drive it in 40+ years. He said I can take her for a spin next spring!
