That I do not know. I have not seen Mr. Mcbee since I left for STL. My dad kept in touch with him for a while after I left. My dad also sold and mounted the tires as needed…
Is there anyone there that you still know, who might also know about the truck? I would imagine it's like where I went to high school in Kitsap County, it grew, but there are peeps who grew up there and still live there, still know of principal families still there.
We passed a big show starting up in Louisville. There were hundreds of cars traveling from all directions. I was a great 5 day road trip. I wasn’t allowed to buy any cars on this trip. We can look tho!
My daughter and her boyfriend are on a whirlwind road trip to the Oregon coast. They left Laramie this morning and are about a half hour away from their hotel in Seaside. They left Springfield Mo on Friday and spent the weekend in Wyo. …kids.
Good for them. Building great memories. There's so much to see out in the rest of the US and Canada that it takes these kinds of trips to see and realize the vastness and majesty of the two countries. My wife and I did those kinds of trips for years. Hope in the car and go somewhere we hadn't been yet, or for a long time. Long weekends were travel time and holidays made it even better. Ah, to be young and adventurous again!
Yes! That’s also the first trip her mom and I took 25 years ago. Same style cover as much ground and see as much as you can see. You can rest when you get back home. Cannon Beach when she was around 3 years old
If they are headed to Seaside, they need to drive up U.S. 26 to "Camp 18," (I think that's the name), which has railroad and logging equipment on display, plus the main building was built from old-growth timbers. The restaurant food is okay, but the building is a must-see.
Yes we’ve been there many times. Near the oldest Sitka Spruce that isn’t there anymore. They are staying in seaside because they couldn’t get ocean view in Cannon Beach on such short notice. They’ll possibly leave thru Astoria cross the bridge and travel back thru the upper states thru South Dakota and back here to pick up her cat(s). she drives a rav-4 so it’s kinda like a station wagon
I'd recommend they cross at Longview. The 'highway' up from the Astoria bridge is just Two-Lane blacktop, and very windy, till you get near Shelton. It took me a good three hours to get to Shelton, at the end of the day, when it was getting dark. And I left where I was off U.S. 26 in the late morning. Lazy driving was expected, but that took too long, and I still was headed home to Everett.
