Yes but the stories haven’t changed in 20 years and we’re still discussing the overheat problem on the 49 Chevy truck…
it was a nice surprise! He gave me a little dirt on you during lunch too. You’re in Yakima? I grew up across the river, Pendleton Or. in the 60’s/70’s. I have relatives in Tri-Cities and Walla Walla!
I need to get one of our fun cars a little more hiway worthy and get out to see some of the old territory. My best friend from high school lives around Umatilla. I have a cousin in Kennewick that was into rat rods last I knew, but definitely in the car scene in tri-cities. Growing up, Pendleton was full of nice cars and everyone cruised Main every night.
That would be neat. There is definitely a healthy car culture around here. There's cruising pretty much every weekend during the summer months. Most of the stuff that I would consider cool is owned by older fellows because either A) they've owned it forever or B) they can afford it. The majority of the younger folks are into the imports because that's what they can afford. Not many younger folks driving classics or muscle cars. It will be interesting to see over the next decade if there is a resurgence of young people driving muscle cars as all of the current generation Chargers/Challengers, Camaros and Mustangs age out into the used car market. Anyway, if you ever get the 58 road trip reliable let me know. It'd be great to meet you in person.
My cousin lives in Kennewick, and her oldest son, who is an electrical engineer, does imports and diesel pickups. He can afford the trucks, but admittedly has the soft spot for the import tin.
