Cool story to tell, I figured this was the spot to do it.
Sunday was the 26th annual Old Steel Car show at the AG Museum. It's the unofficial start to the car show/cruising season here in the Valley. I am trying to sell my brown 75 F-250, so we drove that, in order to get some exposure. We had a great time at the show and were heading home when the topic turned to a Rambler wagon that was at the show. Just then I happened to look down a side street and I said to the boys "well there's one right there" Something about it looked out of place though. So I decided to circle the block and check it out.

Turns out it was a film crew.

I apologized for interrupting them and prepared to leave. At that point a fellow came running up to us and said "excuse me sir, I was wondering if I could ask you something" I stopped and said "sure".
Turns out he is the director and they were filming scenes for a movie he is hoping to make this year. He said he had a scene he wanted to shoot with a pickup truck, but apparently the one he had booked had fallen through. He asked "would you mind if we used your truck for a scene?"
    Of course I said yes.

The film is set in the 70’s and is about a Soviet cosmonaut that ends up in Texas after an issue re-entering the atmosphere. And a KGB Spy is tasked with finding him and getting him out before the US finds him. It’s called The Last Soviet in Texas.
Sounds like it could be a pretty good flick.

My truck was used as the Sherriff's personal vehicle and was in a scene where he is off duty, driving around looking for the missing Cosmonaut.

It was pretty fun. The boys were with me and they thought it was a pretty neat experience. It's not a 100% certainty that this film will even see the light of day, but it's still cool nonetheless.
The working title of the film is "The Last Soviet in Texas"
Could be a pretty cool flick. I'll keep y'all posted if anything comes down the pike.

Watch it turn out to be called "Y'allski."
Of course, the film maker couldn't be bothered to actually film in Texas....

That's a neat way to end a trip to a car show, to end up having your truck in a real movie show (potentially of course).
Your truck does look very photogenic. A stroke of luck for the movie guys.

Ugh, I had to put out beaucoups dollars this month for car stuff. Babe got a new battery. Oh, get a load of this: the Pick n Nose charges $65 plus core for reconditioned batteries, but only give a 30-day warranty. I bought Babe's battery from Walley World, about the same price, same core, one-year replacement warranty. Junk yards, especially that one, are now looking at used parts as gold-plated. /Rant

I bought a new water pump and fan clutch for the Burb, as the current one just spontaneously began leaking. Good thing it didn't happen on my trip home. Those'll be here sometime after the tenth. I also bought a replacement third eye brake light and upstream oxygen sensors. I discovered those were bad when I loaded a GM-specific OBD II program in my scantool and found some twelve codes, all dealing with the oxygen sensors, and no CEL showing. I'll have to pull the cluster to see if the bulb's been pulled or painted over.

I saw this at the parking garage after the train show:

'55 Star Chief, but I think it's not the Custom Catalina, as it isn't a hardtop.
