    In the history book I read, VW constructed fifty prototypes for the real-world testing as well as demonstrating their various capabilities. The majority of them were simply driven until used up; this one is in superlative shape, and if I didn't know any better, looks possibly unrestored.

    I once saw a 21-window Type II that had a Fiero V6 transaxle installed; the radiator and electric fan were bolted to the front bumper....

    That Type 1 Cabrio looks pretty close to the one used in the movie American Graffiti. Just a question of the paint color.
