One that accidently got in the way?

 

Got a story to tell about this pic, and what's in it - and no, it's not about the babe.......

This is, apparently, Amerec Subaru, and I believe the pic was taken some time around the mid 80's, as early as 1982 possibly. I recognized the lot because of Carson Toyota, over there on the other side of the 405 (San Diego) freeway. This is in Carson, Ca., down in the south bay area of the greater Los Angeles environs. If you continued on the freeway S/B (going away from the camera), you would be in Long Beach in about 4 minutes. Anyways, that's where you are at.

As to this lot, this is the exact location where the Missus and I bought our '79 Toyota pickup. Amerec was originally just an RV ('rec') and used vehicle dealer. From what I remember, we were out driving around with Marcia's sister and her fiance' (later, husband), looking at various RV's, and we spotted the Toyota P/U on the lot. This was in the summer or early fall of 1980. We went back the next day and bought it.

The same lot now has a new dealer building on it and is Kia of Carson.

 

Was Adrienne Barbeau already on that billboard, as you took delivery of your pick-up?

 

Hey, that was 42 years years ago. I'm lucky I remembered the lot. I'm sure there were 1 or 2 billboards there, but no memory of what was on them.
