I guess I half assed that transaction by not returning it, so I can only blame myself for that one…

My cheap Chinesium 5.0L dizzy is new but defective out-of-the -box. It's what I get for looking to spend only $75 and not have to rebuild.

Things have definitely changed. It used to be people had knowledge and pride in their products. And customer service was always a priority. I'm generalizing of course because we all know of businesses and people that were the exception to the rule.
But overall, things really were better then than they are now.

Aaaaah, no worries. Yeah, soon as I'm home Monday, I'll get the replacement ordered. Gotta get Roger inspected and tabbed, this is holding up the works.

I work with the public every day. I try to treat folks/customers the way I hope to be treated when I have a concern. And you are right, customer service is NOT what it used to be but nor are customers.
It amazes me what some customers expect from retailers. And are so quick to use social media to voice their compliant while embellishing the facts. And the language...
