New 2 forum..........

Well I live in Upstate Ny and I have owned my own body shop for the past 17 years, but I have been painting for over 25 years. This is my 93' Buick Roadmaster wagon that I painted this past spring. I took it to Wagonfest in Waterloo, Ny this past summer, and let me tell you that was fun, loads of wagons in all different stages of being done. Well i'll do some searching and hope to make new friends here as well.

Love the Roadie bigdaddy! Wish we could have made it out to WF09, next years we will, for sure. WOW there is alot of great lookin heavy metal parked there. I bet it was a great time had by all.

 

Hey, what's wagonfest? I've never heard about it but it looks like it's really cool. What are the details on it?

 

Last weekend in July, Fred in Waterloo, NY holds the Wagonfest. It is for the elite GM B-Body wagon guys to get together, swap stories and parts that they bring along and try to sell. Other forms of B-Bodys show up as well as other makes of wagons, but most feel intimidated, surrounded by all the Caprice, OCC and Roadmaster wagons.

 

Not me I would show up if I had a wagon. BTW Welcome to the Cuckoo Nest

Nice work on that Roadie.

With that many Lbs of chrome plated steel at each end, not much intimidates me and my wagon.

 

Tell ya Steve, I doubt your Lemans weighs much more then a B Body. Mine are both just under 4400lbs. I did not say everyone, just the timid. It is a car show for wagons, I feel all wagons should be welcomed, its the nonwhales that have no real calling at the Wagonfest IMO.

 

Big daddy. You'll enjoy it here. Plus you have lots of B body experience. Jump in anytime.

I like all wagons but Wagonfest is just too far away.

 

I'm not talking GVW, Scott... just the bumpers.
Whe I removed my rear bumper a fw years ago, I was totally unprepared for what it actually weighed. My foot hurt for weeks after that.

Just for your info Wagonfest is for any and all types of wagons. It just so happens that it got started on the Impalass forum. Fred always says every wagon is welcome. So next year if your up for the drive come on down. This past year the furthest wagon came from Alberta Canada- 2800 mile drive. Yeah were that nuts for our wagons.

The guy had one hell of a story as to how he managed to get away from the wife.

His wife went to work early knowing she was going to be pulling a double shift, so packed up his gear and headed out without telling her, then around 10am he called her at work and told her he wanted to go to wagonfest. Well she said "well go then" he laughed and told her he already left, she wasn't happy but what could she do. He was one helluva guy so glad he could make it. The funny thing was as we were driving done I-81 we stopped at a rest stop and as we were pulling out low and behold there was an Alberta plate on the wagon in front of us. He joined in on our little convoy to make it 4 wagons strong. Needless to say the we had a great time.

 

Well thats cool, I wasn't aware that it was for all wagons. The IMP guys made it sound like it was for just GM wagons.

Now that we all know that, maybe we could get a wagontrain coming from our little piece of the web. Anyone heading from west of NY, I am right on your way there and be happy to setup a meeting place to convoy. I am 1/2 mile from the exit of I-86, the very first exit once you hit NY. There is a Holiday Inn Express, so if someone wanted to do an overnighter to wait for more. There is also 2 close campgrounds that offer camper or cottage rentals, or even pitch a tent(not in your pants, you pervs)

Now if he was coming from AB, and coming down I-81, did he travel Canada the whole way and come south out of Ontario off the 401? Wow that would be an expensive haul to drive with the Canadian gas prices. Where do you live Bigdaddy? I am in the very SW corner of the state, 92 miles SW of Buffalo, right on the PA border.

Welcome to the forums BigD! I really dig the mid/late 80s rims on that. I will be getting my own Roadmaster. It was going to be last month but its been pushed till about March/April, none the less, I'm still excited.
