No Reserve: 1964 Imperial LeBaron Project for sale on BaT Auctions - ending October 11 (Lot #57,043) | Bring a Trailer
. Pretty good cloud of smoke from exhaust when driven around parking lot .... car has had what looks like a previous cheap cover-up paint job ... white paint on edges of chrome trim etc ... who knows what is underneath .... white leather seats look awful .... engine looks awful Having said that , it is a good price for someone wanting to restore it. .
Especially a LeBaron. I had a dark blue ‘62 LeBaron I called Milburn. They are nice cars, but an acquired taste.
That's true, they were neat cars in many ways but their styling always seemed just a skoach off the mainstream. That isn't always a bad thing. But it can narrow the appeal. They never gained the prestige and following that Lincoln and Cadillac did.
I thought the same about that era of imperial .... they always looked a bit odd to me .... yet as vintage cars I have become fond of the oddballs and the uglies . My favorite Imperials were the 1959 era .... local fellow named Mike had one in robins egg blue with a white roof and the 392 hemi .... I rode with him to Winnipeg where he had traded it in for a new 1969 Road Runner 383 4spd and I rode home in the first muscle car in our city .... ahhhh the memories . ,
