Ad says only 7K original miles but $56,000 seems lot for this generation. Maybe someone is making another OJ movie.
It is a very nice rig, but the buyer just has no idea what something is worth. In the last handful of years, there have been others this condition or better, and have not gone past half that $56K price.
For $56k you can get a '60s or early '70s Bronco. I like these vehicles but I really don't see the demand for it, unless you could prove it was somehow the OJ Bronco I don't see it getting half that.
Makes about as much sense as this: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1985-chevrolet-c20-scottsdale-4x4-pickup-yruck/ but apparently there are people out there with money to burn.
Here's what a 1st-gen Bronco will cost you............... https://bend.craigslist.org/ctd/d/bend-1977-ford-bronco/7233789255.html
This first gen looks cool but $70,000.00 is totally beyond my understanding. Wonder if any of these overpaying buyers ever rode in or drove one of these because a Land Rover they ain't.
There seems to be a wave of "old" off-roader desire sweeping the country. If it's at least a couple of decades old, has some character and is four wheel drive then it's value has increased. Look at first gen Broncos. A half dozen years ago you could buy a really nice one for 15, maybe 20K. Now that same Bronco is 45K. Same thing is happening with Jeep Wagoneers, K5 Blazers, IH Scouts and of course 60's, 70's, even 80's pickups. You know I'm also into old FORD crew cabs. I come by my obsession honestly, since my Dad owned a 79 F-250 4X4 crew cab from the time I was 2 until I was 18. These trucks were relatively rare when new, were used mostly by logging crews, railroads, municipalities, etc. so they were used and abused. Not many survived intact. So to come across one today is definitely unusual. That being said, you should see some of the prices these things are going for these days. I mean we're talking new truck money for something that is 45 years old! I just think it's the "thing" right now. People still love 50's fins and 60's muscle, but the "vintage adventuremobile" is what is in. And apparently people are willing to pay a lot of money for them.
Latest contender for the title of "overpriced vehicle of the day". 1977 Ford Bronco sold for $ 120k. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-ford-bronco-65/
The craziness in "collector car" prices will probably end some day. But it seems it's not going to be this week. Another $130,000 vehicle on BAT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-ford-f-250-14/
I was waiting for someone to post this truck. The F-Series community has been all a chatter about this one. This truck was built with a very specific theme in mind. Obviously the exterior looks old and worn out. But as we all know this patina/survivor look is incredibly hot right now. It was left that way on purpose. Every other aspect of this truck was restored to an incredibly high standard. I think that some folks with deep pockets look at rigs like this and think "It would probably cost more than that for me to pay someone to build it" so they buy feeling like they got a good deal. I'm not saying I agree with all of the super high prices stuff is going for these days, but having been involved in a dozen restorations over the past decade-plus I have come to the realization that restoring a desirable vehicle to a high standard is very expensive. In almost ever instance it would have been cheaper to just go out and buy one that was already done. This truck is in the same vein as the "Derelict" options available from Icon 4X4. Expensive? Yes. Crazy that trucks that look like this bring top dollar? I guess.. Unexpected in 2021 when a brand new F-250 can go for 80-90 grand depending on the trim package? I actually don't think so.
