Mystery wheel cover is from a 76-77 Plymouth Volare Premier and Dodge Aspen SE.

The Buick wire wheel cover appears to be from a 78-79 Buick LeSabre or Electra.

Thanks a lot. I found pics of the Aspen / Volare Hubcaps on a 76 -77 Volare but finding the Buick Hubcaps on a 78 -79 Lesabre or Electra is a bit harder in web searches, I did find some that seem to be the same but I'm not sure they're on a 78 - 79 model?

Well, I'm still waiting for the opening at the body shop to get my 67 Belvedere II wagon in there. But meanwhile, last night I made the first major parts purchase. I had already pulled the long dormant 69 318 motor that was in the engine bay. Since it wasn't original to the car anyway, I didn't want to invest in rebuilding it. Last night I bought a complete 383 4 bbl engine and trans out of 68 Dodge Monaco 500 coupe. The Monaco had been driven from Florida to Maryland less than a year ago. The owner completely dismantled it with the intention of restoring it. But, upon removal of the vinyl top, it was discovered that the otherwise solid car, had very little metal left in the roof. It would have been too big an expense to replace the roof even if a rust free doner had been available. He decided to part it out. Knowing it was a running motor, and that it was complete with trans, all brackets and accessory drives, and even the kickdown linkage, dual snorkel air cleaner and fan, meant this could be an easy engine swap without a need for a rebuild. Meanwhile, the buddy that helped me move it, gave me a 68 K frame complete with the optional sway bar, to mount it all on. That means that while the wagon is in the body shop with its original k- frame and front suspension, I can clean up the other one and mount the engine to it, so its ready to have the freshly painted body dropped into place over it.
The 68 motor should work well on my 67, and since the doner car was non ac, like my wagon, it has all the correct pulleys and brackets for fan, alternator and power steering. engine1.jpg engine2.jpg engine3.jpg engine4.jpg

Will you be making a disc brake conversion on it also?

No. I have factory power front disc brakes on one old Mopar and factory manual front disc brakes on two others. For the kind of driving I do, I don't notice any real difference in properly operating drum brakes and the factory disc brakes.

Well now, that's a pretty good score! Bummer the Monaco 500 was beyond repair. At least it's serving as an organ donor.

Took the tailgate apart to replace the rollers and weatherstripping, so I parked it in the garage since the window is out. It stunk the whole house of gasoline so I dropped the tank to see what's leaking. Removed the bumper to remove the tow hitch so it's not in the way when I reinstall the tank. Since the tank is out I might cut out the rusty floor and since it's on stands I should replace the pinion seal on the diff. You guys know the routine I'm sure

I attended the Dupont Registry Cars and Coffee this morning, and got some pics of my engine compartment. The grille is now body mounted, and the hood is on stilts. I installed Hydroboost in place of the vacuum brake assist. The engine does not make enough vacuum to operate the vacuum boost.

Noice! Do you take it on to the 1/4-mile, and if so, got a pic of your best timeslip?
