I think I still have an 8-track head cleaner in my junk.

The most reliable tape deck I have ever used and serviced, was the FoMoCo ones. Motorola ones where really top notch too. When you get a player, just make sure the catspan and playing head is clean.

As for the tape, the Ampex tapes have rollers that melt all over the tape and inside the cart. If you REALLY REALLY want to save that tape, there are places out there that will clean that up and put a new roller in it (non rubber).

Also most tapes seem to brake at the splice. I just used a commercial brand of scotch tape. As for the sencing foil, I just used bits of gum foil wrap. Not the best, but these little fixes has lasted me since I started collecting this stuff since I was about 10 years old (I will be 30 in November)

And the space I refer to as Area 51. :biglaugh:

I doubt I'm the only one here who is "organizationally challenged"...

When I was restoring my Buick, I took the bumpers in the shower to get the dirt off when the car was at the paint shop and used the old convertible backwindow as a coffee table (you guessed it- not married at the time). Yup, wouldn't dream of doing that today! The Caddy interior took over our living room for a while though, but my wife and I worked that project together so she wouldn't have complained. We work well together, as long as I do it the way she says to!!!!!:whew:

The garages you pictured are great, i dont have a Garage, right now my work area is the patio table on the driveway. My garage is a steel carport with the box off an old oil truck. so it looks kind of cool, but only to me...
the rest of the storage is under the couch, in the guest room, across the living room in front of the tv. Car parts everywhere, i buy things i dont need, but like to have them just incase, and i have no proper place to put them. Im single and the dog doesnt care where i put them, as long as its not in her food bowl. I guess if i had ONE nice car instead of 7 running cars and a motorhome project, i could work on a garage.

Jase, we're in the same space. :biglaugh:

Now my latest one is kind like your oil tanker box, only much lighter, but this was my first one for the resto:

    New ManCave arches:

Mounted up in 10 minutes, for under $90 CDN$, the plastic white tarp keeps the lighting even, sunrays out, and the PVC arches are conduit, with the boards drilled out to spread them apart.

I take it down when it's too windy or gray. My wife calls it the Igloo. (y)
