Carpenter’s Sandwich drive in restaurant located at 6285 West Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles, CA, certainly was a popular place back in time. The attention-getting-octagonal-shaped wood frame building is topped by a neon sign, with four levels of conventional signage below it. The ground level walls and counter are decorated with ceramic tile.

The publicity images featured here shot in 1932 show the complete facility, staff, and the restrooms in a separate building on the far-left. Sandwiches varied in price from fifteen cents up to twenty-five cents for a “Sirloin Steak Sandwich.” A full line of beverages including “Ben-Hur” coffee was offered along with deserts. The sign on the far-left on the ground level of the building let patrons know that Carpenter’s also had a “Barbecue Pit” drive in located at Wilshire and Western Avenues in Los Angeles.

At some point in time, it occured to someone that a career could be made through selling stolen wheel covers, after the need to lock in spare tires became an industry norm

I can't read the first movie title, but the second one, 'Vips,' was a movie about a guy who invents a candy that was "...The equivalent of two dry martinis."

Actually the V I Ps are a bunch of screwed up people who get Fogged in at the Airport in London. I think the first movie is 36 Hours with Eva Marie Saint.

He can keep his candy. In just a few hours, it'll be time for the real thing

Second movie is 36 hours which I think also starred James Garner. It was a WW2 film about the Germans trying to get D Day info from Garner. That was some double feature, two good movies with real actors, no childish superhero nonsense and no computer graphics.

Then there are two movies, I'll ask my brother about the one I think it is, as it's been since '80 or '81 since I saw it.
