I've got one of those type backwards brake levers, on my bicycle. The French were using those, long after everyone else stopped. Mine along with the handlebar originated from a child's bicycle, of all vehicles. That was an effective way of teaching kids the dangers of these, as soon as the brake lever hooked onto something
