Saw another nice review on the Nomaro from LS1TECH.Com https://ls1tech.com/articles/5th-gen-camaro-wagon-spotted-actually-looks-pretty-cool/
Recently went on a Camaro owners site I had not been on in awhile and found two messages for me inquiring about my Nomaro that they saw on one of my trips to Michigan with the car this summer. One was from Drivers Talk Radio wanting to talk with me about the car and the other was from Road and Track for a possible interview. Better late than never so I did respond to see if either was still interested. Winter is here so I am getting some more paint work, repairing a door dent and shopping for a set of tires. I have also been busy modifying the rear plastic interior panels getting them ready for upholstery. Still trying to figure out some type of striping that might look good on the car. In keeping with more of a factory look, so far just pinstriping may be the choice but I have checked out a few bolder stripes that might also look good. Would be nice to find someone good at photoshop to help me make a selection.
Finally finished up more of the interior. A friend with an upholstery shop was able to join the headliner pieces and get the one piece headliner to fit in the car. We also used a lighter gray material to trim out the custom pieces I had to make. It complements the darker color of the seats and door panels very well. Next up is a new set of tires and hopefully some mild stripe accents. Looking forward to my second season of driving this custom build and finding time to get back to work on my 66 Nomad Wagon conversion.
I added pictures but somehow they did not show up. I will try again later. Apparently I took them with my phone and the image size was too big so I had to resize them.
RMay , Nice to see you're getting the Nomaro wrapped up! I have probably asked you this before but I'll ask again, do take your cars to any local events? I would love to see them up close and personal and maybe pick your brain awhile also! Anyway keep up the outstanding craftsmanship and maybe we'll run into each other sometime in the future?...Longroofs Rule!
There are lots of cruise nights in our area that I enjoy. Last year I made 2 trips to Michigan with the Nomaro to see Family and participate in some events there like the Woodward Dream Cruise. Also drove it to a tour of the Tonawanda Engine plant and a show at a Chevy dealership where my car was originally sold when it was a Camaro. Also attended a couple smaller local shows and the Ollcott Beach show. Looking forward to enjoying the Nomaro again this year.
That's great RMay! From the looks of the photo you submitted it looks like these young men enjoy the Nomaro also. Maybe we'll cross paths when the cruising scene breaks this spring? Have you heard of the cruise-in located in Angelica NY. It's held the last Thursday of each month( June, July and August 6:00 pm till ?) Last year I went to the one in June (I think?) There was around 110 cars! It's a great cruise-in situated on the closed down main street! Can't wait till Spring!....Longroofs Rule!
Ran across another article from last summer that someone did on my Nomaro. Can't wait for better weather so I can get back behind the wheel. https://www.hotcars.com/chevrolet-camaro-wagon-spotted-looking-like-a-dodge-magnum/
It must make you bristle with pride when find something like this on a project you have poured your heart and soul into. That's a great article RMay!....Longroofs Rule!
