That Texaco Station in picture #419 is almost exactly like mine, the one I used to work at, but reversed. My 2 Bays were on the other side. Was that way till it got remodeled in '72. One of the best pictures I've seen online yet.

I'm not sure exactly when, but it got demolished about 10 to 15 years ago. It is now a parking lot for a drug store chain. I spent 5 1/2 years there part time, starting in my high school days.

That is really neat. Advertising like this is probably unlikely to ever happen again.

Recently an episode of American Pickers was on in the background and they were talking about a giant advertising piece that was a statue of a service station attendant. I wasn't paying much attention until it was almost over. From what I gathered mostly what was left was the frame work. I wonder if this is the one they were looking at?

Those style of statues have been all over America, so unless they were in the vicinity of any town that had a Chevron station at that time, I would think it would be for any of the other statues the pickers have run into.

What would happen to the statue in Winter? Did it get a coat?
I wonder what ever happened to this cool building. I hope, they didn't knock it down:

We have Gorilla muffler shop here in Nashville. This guy has been here ever since I can remember. He was MIA for a while when he was hit by a car. When he showed back up his hands were missing and his leg was wrapped in duct tape. 7A12ECDE-376C-400D-8B1F-44345C2D7CE2.png

Dude, the two photos on these two posts, plus one on the "Wagons in Street Scenes" thread you made tonight, have big red X's for the photos.

I thought it might've been my phone, but I compared my phone's screen to my laptop, and I see the same thing. Also, you aren't the only one.
