I haven't seen one in at least 20 years, a good friend of mine had one painted up like a Shelby 350 with blue stripes. This one brings back memories.

Basically, a Ford Escort with an even shorter wheelbase, and no back seat.

Many years ago, I went and looked at an EXP that was backhalfed and had huge slicks under it. I thought it would be cool with a 2.3L turbo engine. What I didn't know, was that it still had the original front wheel drive setup and it just had a Chevy Citation rear axle. It was built back in the 80's when some people thought it was cool to make a fake Prostreet car.

I always thought they were just a rebodied Escort, same wheelbase. just more front overhang.

Learned something new today, I had no Idea Ford sold 2 EXP convertibles & 28 Mercury LN7 Convertibles in 82. Never saw or even heard of them.

You probably did. But, it was just that they weren't interesting, back then. Thus subject to an ignoring audience
