It's a V8 block of some sort. Nothing a '51 Pontiac ever had. If you're really serious about bringing it home, be prepared for dumping out those boxes for putting that puzzle together, first. Looks like a dead ringer for a basket case of which hard-to-find annoying trim parts are missing. At least, this is an early enough Pontiac, before they uglied them up in '55.
Coincidentally, heard this getting played, this morning:

It might be a lot less to do with the beer than those smokes his wife didn't bring home, Sir
What? We're still on page eight?

The guy who lived next to my folks farm had one rotting away next to the back fence line, yet all that chrome still sparkled like it was new. It shone like a diamond in a goat's arse.

They “claim” everything is there. Just “neatly” organized. Price has gone down to $1000. I bet the front grill alone is worth $800 to a guy trying to bring back a two door. Headed out in the morning. Keep y’all posted

Well, IMHO, a thou is a cash deal, because a trade would be a 'pig in a poke.' A running modern station wagon for a disassembled Poncho?:thumbs2:Yeah, right.:coco:

Holy @$#% y’all. The car has everything x2. Literally. Two flat head motors. Three transmission. Two complete steering wheels, the body has been off and the frame and suspension recoated. All the chrome. I’m gonna drink about it today and probably deliver the $$ tomorrow. I’ll take lots of pictures then. One thing... she can’t find the title....

Looks like another darned 4-door car sort of a basket case. Since I saw the parts book and kinda thought it looks like a 1950 Chevy I'd calculate it's a 1950 Pontiac 4-door sedan. That's a 6-cly engine block next to the animal cage. You might get everything with the cage for $1500. With young kids helping you a lot, that cage may come in handy!
By now you either have it or don't.
It is cool though and worth a gander. :eek:Let's hope you don't get goosed!

In many states it's possible to get a 'lost title.'

It's a '54 with a flat-head straight eight. Cool things have already been done to them:

Somehow I got lost between page 8 and 9. Sort of a time warp!
Grizz, you should buy the Pontiac. I'm sure the way things are packaged and sort of organized the owner planned on building something out of it. Maybe he died and left his wife or kids to sell it.
At least buy a cheap vinyl storage shed and a few good tarps, or even an el-cheapo car cover for it.
I don't suggest painting it Cuban pink like the '56 Chebby.

In any case, he can get it cheap. 2 to 3 hundred, at most. The widow wants it gone and he took the title with him
