What’s in the background

looking at bikes on Craigslist and saw this. I wouldn’t call this a station wagon but it’s cool. Just another car im to big to fit in what is it? A triumph? Mg?

The little 4-cylinder was standard.

Later on, you could get a MGC-GT, with a straight 6. Identified by this bubble hood:


And in England, there were a few built with the Rover aluminum V8. (Don't think these were ever imported to the states....)


I SO wanted one of these back around 1970 or so......... just didn't have the money for one.....

 

My grandpa didi had a convertible. Same color green. First time I ever rode in a convertible. Years later, after he died this fella moved in and married didi’s Wife. (Not my grandma) then he tracked the car down and bought it. So now he’s married to didi’s wife, and driving his car. What’s next man? You gonna change your name too???

When looking at vehicles for sale or trade I spend more time checking the background. Often the better deals are there.

In the background of my 1939 Ford dash is our board fenced lawn. First a gate and wood fence, grass, then the front fence near the dirt road. I miss it but I still have the background.
After 40+ years in a shed there are a few cobwebs in the fourground.

 

I went down to the Illinois river today and this is not what I saw in the fourground or background.

That's honest of him to charge the bettery for the photo session. Although, there's nothing wrong with the 2 bbl Weber, it's still not superior to the original dual Strombergs. Guys would convert theirs over, when they didn't have the proper knowledge as to how to service the original sidedraughts. I'll pass on it. Thinking it should work, because it was Winter, it was disappointing that the beer was still warm. We didn't know about infrared rays, back then.
