    Hey guys,

I'm wondering if the wheels from the 1980s police crown vics will fit my 88' grand marquis, I'd think they'd fit since they're both the same thing from an engineering standpoint. If anyone has a set of 5 WITH the caps I'd be willing to trade my turbine wheels!

Yes. '72-'79 intermediate and '79-'04 full size wheels are all the same. That's why Babe's shoes include 1990 Town Car wheels.

it does look pretty cool on the babe, I like the turbines but they don't seem to be as strong and slick as the PI/patrol wheels.

Yo! I’d be interested in buying your unwanted turbines. I’ll give ya $20 plus pay for shipping :happy:I too was facing a wheel dilemma. The turbines are so dang hard to clean up once they get worn out. I ended up painting mine and was pretty happy with the out come. Now I want to do a set in black. Here’s a thread with the results, lots of good suggestions, tips and other ideas you could roll around.

The 15" police specific wheels with the nubs to retain the dog dish hubcaps are getting hard to find, but as mentioned any 79-91 wheel will fit. I don't recall if there are any fitment issues with the 92-02 wheels. '03+ have the wrong offset.

This is the style that I have on my car:

You can find later model steel wheels in 16", but they went to a different design hubcap.

I am pretty sure he is rolling the '03+ 17" steelies. He has Cobra brakes which with minor exception don't fit under 16" wheels.

That would be a surprise because I don't recall any of the Intercepters having 17" wheels available.

They switched over some time after they redesigned the front end in '03. I'm not sure of the exact year when they did change.

Then color me educated. I'll have to look for a set for Babe, to see if they would fit correctly and how they'd look.
