A tobacco? Not that I recall off the top of my head, the 3 I listed just stick out the most.

Back on topic, now I remember my Paternal Grandma did let me sit on her lap and steer the Caprice in the driveway (maybe with assistance, I don't know) when I was 3 or 4 one Autumn day.

I also had dreams where my Father put me in the pickup truck and on the road to drive it at the same age, I don't think that counts but I always considered those recurring dreams to be nightmares; I was far too young to drive, I wasn't even Short Round's age and I don't remember if there were any stilts on the pedals.

Growing up on a farm out west we always had vehicles that we drove out to the fields and like the drivers some were licensed, some were not I started the driving tractors and other vehicles when I was 6, I had a fair amount of experience by the time I got my license.

1966 - my mom got my older brother a new Opel Kadett wagon for his birthday,
we had just moved out of NYC to Conn. on 5 acres - drove the car all around the property playing Secret Agent Man with my younger (11 Year old) brother - jumping from a moving car to dodge the "bullets" - Surprised we didn't break out necks
Mom's 2nd marriage didn't last; moved back to NYC following year - last time I drove a car until I got my license in 1975

I drove my Dads 2 station wagons, one time with my dad when he was drunk on Thanksgiving LMAO. My Dad would get loaded on Thanksgiving at my Uncles house which was about 40 mins away and one year I drove on his lap in a snowstorm all the way home. He did the pedals and I steered. We made it safe until we turned onto our street and it was icy so we fishtailed into a neighbors front yard and luckily we were able to get it unstuck. I took his other wagon and smashed into the frame of the garage opening and ripped the trim off of the garage. Me and my buddy fixed the trim and he never knew. We use to also take my Moms Dodge Omni. The funny part is my Dad lives with us now and we are super close. I wouldnt nominate him for parent of the Universe but we did have alot of fun together LOL

Why not? Isn't that what parents are for?
You were playing Secret Agent Man's stuntmen, rather. Did your parents ever find out you were using live rounds?
Do you know what Keith Richards once put in his pipe?

I practiced in this 1971 Barracuda and then got my license in it (my Aunt's car) since it had power steering.

My Mom let me drive her 66 Cadillac down the driveway until we went over the grass. Dad hollered at us both!

And I forgot, I had another one, but when I was 21 and no license. I make no secret of the fact that even though I took Driver's Ed and passed, got the insurance certificate, I did not get my license until I was 24. You read that right, 24 years of age. I didn't get my license in high school because of my poor grades. I didn't get my license because the buses to and from college were just down the road from me. It was hell walking in rain or frigid cold, but I had no real social life after my first GF dumped me, so I didn't see a need. And I didn't get my license when I was serving in the U.S. Navy because, well, not having one kept me from having to do duty driver on my section, as it was 24 hours, and sometimes longer. Pissed the officers off. Sooooo, this brings me to my story, where one of my division shipmates had a boat he was fixing up, and he conned me into helping in exchange for the promise off beer and grilled burgers, which he kept. Anyway, he had another of our shipmates coming out, but that guy's car crapped out, so he asked if I could go get him, handed me the keys to his '71 Torino convertible (oh, he was the one who stuck it to me on the '67 Impala Sportroof), so I was only obliging. Well, I hadn't driven anything with that much juice, and I had to just 'play it cool,' so I wouldn't get pulled over. Remember, no license. Well, I picked the other guy up, who was surprised I was driving, as he knew I didn't have a license. Course, he had to mention it to petty Officer Hoppe, who got really mad at me for not speaking up about no license....:naughty::thumbs2:
