I can't believe your Mom would take you young ones to see horror movies.

It was a completely different time back then. Hell, I got to see movies that had racks and full-frontal nudity. I didn't turn into a monster, but that's just me.

we used to play with toy guns all over the place, try doing that now, My brothers (3 - no sisters) and I wanted a GI Joe when they 1st came out to which my mom replied "no sons of mine are going to play with dolls" my how life has changed. and no my son never got a GI Joe because I quoted my mom. also if she didn't anyone we dated the phrase was "isn't she kind ugly?"
that usually ended it right there.

Obviously you turned out fine. I was thinking more along the lines from the perspective of being a parent. I wouldn't want to deal with my kids being up all night because they had been scared senseless due to a movie they had seen. I have enough to deal with without adding another thing to the list. But to each their own. It clearly led to some interesting memories for you.

All we got to see were Disney films, Comedies, and old westerns. Now and then the short news clips had ladies in Africa nursing a baby on her back. Those images ruined me for life. I still haven't seen women around here doing that and my wife had three kids! The only rack I saw was in the Bambie film.
You were a luckly little kid.

Wellll.......:cautious::mischeif::dizzy: For sure, we also saw plenty of first-run movies. My favorite Disney movie, "The Love Bug," the first R-rated movie, as well as the first war movie, "Patton," and the first family movie, also a Disney movie, "Charlie, the Lonesome Cougar."

I used to watch his show on Showtime back in the late Seventies, (here comes the comment that makes you feel sooooo old) back when you tuned the TV to channel 3 here in the States, and turned the knob on the set-top box from 'A' to 'B.'
