Apparently it also makes some people stutter.:slap:
I've changed my passwords just slightly when my computer tells me it's not safe enough. Then I forget what I changed.:coco:
I've joined groups, bought a new computer, then forgot what I joined.
Most forums seem to only be temporary anyway and humans have a short extension span so wander off to new things.

This '59 Opel Blitz would make a great panel truck:

The top blue and white GMC is a rare deluxe model after 1951. Could be as much as a 1954. Notice it has vent windows and the deluxe fender stainless strips. Also deluxe windshield and side/rear window stainless trim. Vent windows were added in 1952.
It has the added windshield sunvent and the cowl side vent door has been removed. It appears the hood ornament has also been shaved off. Push button door handles also began in 1952.
Late model rally wheels, caps, and beauty rings hints at later engine and running gear.

The all blue GMC is a 1948 to 1951 regular model. It has the addded deluxe window side trim but not windshield or fenders. It is not the deluxe model. Addition of halfmoon headlite covers, runnng board step plates, and later ralley wheels show it's updated, most likely a later GM engine and running gear. Swing down door handle of 47-51 model. Black running boardds was standard color.

The Opel appears to be an emergency vehicle with front mounted generator and extra lites. I'd guess 1955 or newer with one piece windshield.

The gear on the front is the internal pump's water manifold. What I'm wondering is: did Opel really use the name 'Blitz' for their trucks, after the war?

Why shouldn't they have? What's political about calling something "lightning"?

I think, he means the connection to Blitzkrieg. Which was the National Socialist's government's term used for a quick invasion. Translated, the phrase means, "(fast as) Lightning War".

Ya know, you're right, I should've thought it through, since I do know a little German. Es ist meine Schuld. Like a pre-war spy film, I have Nazis on the brain, apparently. So, yeah, Blitz, would be an appropriate name for a hard-working truck.

Or better yet, the one which could do the quarter mile faster than the competition could.

After I grew up........... a few years back ...... it wasn't how fast it took to get someplace, it was just getting there that mattered. Some of our most memorable times were after I made a wrong turn and ended up at a lake or a mountain I never even knew about. I was building my panel truck to be a cruise nite fun vehicle and an RV tow vehicle. Life got in the way.

At least I had some good cheap help!
This was how my panel truck began
This is how it was progressing. We didn't work fast, we worked together.

Anymore, for me it's also about enjoying getting there and not about setting records. Now, show us the legs. Or, did the Colonel's deep frier crispy them?:
