What they don't know and probably don't care about is that their husbands are out shooting golfballs at the end of their clubs or, instead of catching fish, they're busy catching lipstick on their collars. Doesn't matter, anyway. What's important is that he's picking up the tab for his wife's leisure.
If they aren't dead ringers for Alkies, I don't know what is. Both look stoned and at least the one makes some attemt at covering it up with beauty parlor visits and sunglasses. The other's hair texture alone is concrete forensic evidence for years of binging.

Or buddy up with some of those veiny-nosed grannies and offer to drive them around all day long.

The Nomvette with a split rear seat for ski snobs would have been cool to see around. Why do automobile manufacturers always tease us at autoshows with their best stuff and then decide not to put those into production?

 

Because back then, they'd indulge the designers (like Harley Earl or Larry Shinoda, who were visionaries in their own rights), then pay attention to the bean counters.
