    I bought my black 1965 Mustang fastback back in 1965. When the third kid came along in 1970 it was time to think big. In 1972 traded for a 1972 Gran Torino wagon.
    Later the kids moved out. Now I wish I had both of those Fords. I was born 20 years too soon!

    I think the one on the left is a body-in-white car, likely to be turned into a drag or race car.

    Maybe, but not necessarily. Holman-Moody and other race builders also received body-in-white cars.
