New member here. My wife and I just aquired a 1961 Parkwood wagon that used to belong to her grandfather. He passed on last year. I remember the first time I saw the wagon it was about ten years ago sitting in the briar bushes behind a barn on my wife's grandfather's farm. I thought man that car is awesome looking but rough. Well the family is cleaning up the property and the wagon found a new home in my garage. I talked with her grandmother and it turns out they parked the car in 1972 and it hadn't moved since. They parked it because it did not have air conditioning. Bought a new car and forgot about the wagon. The car sat so long the floors have rusted away but I found a donor car for that. Still has the original 283 and 2 speed power glide.
Welcome and good luck. Sitting that long in the bushes it's gonna need a lot of love. But that's what it's all about.
Yes they bought it brand new in 61. Traded in a 4 dr Bel Air for it. Still trying to figure out how to post pics of it.
Well sir it looks like your a man who likes a challenge. It's a great body style and will make a family hauler. Please keep us posted with your resto.
I have a 69 El camino also I have been working on the last 10 years. It wasn't near as bad as this car is. But my wife is excited about this car so maybe she will be more willing to throw money at it.
