I just converted my car to LED headlights. They are a lot brighter than the stock ones. I took a picture with the driver's side installed and before installing the passenger's side.

I was wondering when aftermarket full LED headlamps would be available...more or less. I just really haven't been paying that much attention. But I'm very impressed with their performance in area lighting installations such as street lamps.

Flew out to New Mexico to help my daughter out with her 96 rodie wagon. Needed a fresh set of tires and a new ignition module. Back home here our old 96 rodie is going to get a nice set of slotted rotors and new pads. We just installed a nice set of general grabber tires on that one since it see's our winters worst weather. Last but not least my son's 96 rodie wagon is getting the transmission looked at now. I was using the car to go to dinner with the wife and the check engine light came on. Put the scanner on it at home and it was showing a "factory trans code malfunction". The car seemed to be running and shifting just fine and we had to checked out buy a trusted trans shop and he said to get it in soon but don't sweat it. A week passes buy with all intention to bring the car in to have this issue fixed right and my son calls me up and says the car will not go into gear. Sounds like someone threw a box of marbles into the transmission. Doesn't matter if it is in park, drive or reverse. (will keep ya posted on this one) So all 3 have needed some form of wagon love and all are getting what they to keep on running!

I've run into that "factory trans code malfunction." Essentially, the clutches and steels are worn out and the computer can no longer take up the room in the trans to get the gear to engage. The sound you hear is the steel clutch underlays and steels bouncing off each other.

I just bought a second set of LED headlights to go in my 91 for $50 on ebay. This time I got the 90 watt set. With the clear lenses it should be a lot brighter than the 80 watt set in my 92.

The white Buick GS wagon is getting a trans overhaul! The clutches (as mentioned) where shot and bound up so bad the car was stuck in drive! (no reverse) That will set my son (and me) back a few wagon Buck$.

The steels in my Exploder's 4R70W were blued in the 3rd gear set, and nearly all the clutches were done for...the pan was full of clutch material and the filter was clogged.

white wagon is done and we picked it up today! She runs great! The trans did get a complete overhaul. someone was in the trans once before and installed a shift kit (that was OK to do) But they added some sort of additive to the trans oil that broke down all the seals and damaged some of the solenoids in the trans. The clutches where coming apart and making a mess of everything. Now all done shifts like a new car and feels good. Now on to our original roadmaster (one pictured in avatar) to put some new brakes. We received all the new parts while the other one was getting the trans done. Nice set of slotted rotors and new pads. That will be done this weekend and this car will be ready for winter!

Woo hoo! Glad to hear it! There's only one additive I'd add to a transmission if it has Type F or Dex/Merc. Otherwise, just use what is recommended and keep away from the snake oils.

Yea, We don't do additives here (you can see why). This one was out of our control. regular trans oil changes and the right type of fluid is the way to go in my book as well. The only time I used something was in my 74 ranchero (over 25 yrs ago) Put a 1/2 cup of brake fluid in a C6 that had morning sickness (trans would not go into gear when cold) and it worked like a charm. But I would never do that on any modern trans. Still have the 74 ranchero running but the trans was rebuilt since then. But I did run it with the brake fluid for over 5 years without a problem.
