The only Pinto I remember being in was owned by one of our sons. He drove it several years without the power steering working. Each month it weighed less from all the rust holes.

I had the misfortune of being contracted to help one of my good friends out who ran a shop on the side. Some goober brought in his Pinto and just HAD to get it running better. No matter how much we worked on it the car never was great (the 1bbl carb it had was warped). I fixed the electrical issues but the rest of the car was just sad. Just taking that thing for test drives... I felt bad for people 35-40 years ago who needed a cheap car to get around in and felt this was their only option.

I was wondering if it was possible to create an icon of a smiley face smoking a crack pipe?

    Sorry, I disagree.

I've had 4 Pintos and a Bobcat (still have 2 and the Bobcat) -- all wagons, of course. Loved every one of them.

Still I don't think they're in the 5 figure range.

It looks very clean, so maybe something closer to half his asking price would be in order.

ctrysquire how do you keep them from rusting to pieces? In the midwest they rusted while sitting on the new car lot.

    Amen. Vega's too.
I bought a Vega wagon once, and towed it home to Peoria from Crystal Lake, Il. When I got home, I had about 70% of what I started the trip with. Bottom half of both front fenders were MIA. The luggage rack fell off (or in).
