    New word acquired, thanks. I agree, having all that stuff is just that they brought not only the kitchen sink but nearly the whole city with them. Isn't the whole idea of camping to get away from all that to get to a relaxed and simpler state of mind? I may be just a young guy here but I get the idea, if that's it.

    I'm starting to think I could learn a lot from the Native Americans and Amish folk, and from the Foxfire books.

    Wagons in vintage Street scenes
    I'm learning a lot from vintage street scenes. Or remembering!:camera:
    Why are people making life so complicated now?Young people need a third hand just to hold their cell phone or I-Pod/pad.:)
    We'd camp sometimes for two or three weeks and never make a phone call.

    Is this the party to whom I am speaking? Kinda hard to drag a Western Electric desk set out to the ol' campsite. Anyway, I'd take my cellphone for emergencies, and my truck has a radio, but other than that, I don't need technology when I get away.
