I forgot about this one. I've got an opposite picture. Here's a pic of my old Festiva I took when I was down in FL visiting my sister. I couldn't resist pulling next to this truck and snapping a pic.

And I bet the Festiva has had more off road time than the truck.

They've been in production for a very long time. My ex inheritted a later model from her mother's friend who was entering an old folk's home. It had only 16,000 kilometers and was practically a new car broken in. It had an automatic transmission which was a typical option of exactly these buyers. It was light, as you claim, and was easy to work on. Everything was easilly accessable, under the hood. The interior was a different story, though. One sat in there like in a sportscar and if you had to get under the dash for anything, it was a P.I.T.A. Well, being a small car of this sort, you couldn't have it both ways.
After I get my new headlight, I'm putting my Audi up for sale or trade for one of these Suzuki R+ wagons, if I can get my hands on one.
Do you have these, over there? If so, are they as reliable as the Swifts? I'm certain that it won't be fun to drive for long distances, since the Swift was known for its lack of steering feedback. Ours was that way and it didn't even have power steering. I'd imagine that it would be even worse with it.
As much as the Audi is prestigiuos and loaded with goodies, it's becoming a financial liability and if I wanted the prestige and goodies, I'd rather drive a rear wheel drive car of that level. The Suzuki will sort of be an appliance where not much fun is to be had. But, insurance and taxes will be lower. Exit and entry will obviously be much better than the Swift and it'll carry more bulky stuff. Here are some offerings within 200 kilometers:
