All options including power astroroof. Really does look just about like new. Very beautiful car. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Pontia...ac-Chevy-/321708750862?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
I agree very nice car, but I wish the seller luck with the $22,000 asking price!!!!!! Things working aginst this car, Body Style (4-doors do not bring the same money as 2-doors) Not a Popular Model with Pontiac Collectors (Parisenne's are not popular south of the Canadian Border), also any Pontiac (including my 78 Catalina Safari) Without a Pontiac V-8 will bring less money. And the Color's are not that attractive to me anyway. But it does have just about every option you could get. So it does have that working for it. But I see it as a $5000 to $8000 car.
Don't think of it as a collector car necessarily. Look at it as a driver for a year or two and then sell it. What can you get new for $22k now - a Ford Focus? Honda Civic maybe? This Pontiac has much more style and luxury. (Plus insurance should be much cheaper.)
Last month, an '84 Ford Bronco with (verified) 26K on the clock went for $23K at auction, even though the estimated price was $6-7K. So even though it doesn't fit what you've listed, there's always the chance someone will want it badly, and will pay over what you think it's worth just for the privilege.
You oughta be jealous, Jeff. He's got a bunch of cars in his personal collection (this is one of them), and he has a few other Tin Indians, all in their own garage by themselves.
Broncos are a different beast entirely, the 80's Broncos are still very popular as are the square body GMC Jimmy\Chevy Blazer 4x4 trucks. Jeff is right, the Pontiac faithful won't pay any premium for a car of this vintage, 2 door or not, because it has no Pontiac engine. It's a very nice example of this era of car, which is working in its favor, but ultimately it's a $7-8k car tops. The only way it will go higher is if someone out there with more money than sense just HAS to have it NOW or if a collector who doesn't really understand the market expects there to be a demand for this type of car in the future (and they would not pay top dollar to get in on the ground floor). There's just too many of these "little old man" cars still around for sale for 1/3-1/4 of the BIN price that are almost as nice to justify the price premium here - and most of those cars sit unsold for a long period of time waiting for the right buyer to one day come along. I had almost the exact same color and option package car (2-tone paint and no astroroof) but mine was a '78 with a Pontiac 400. It was a great car though, miss it and wish I still had it.
I agree it looks great. At 1/2 the price it's still too much unless the buyer is willing to keep it to drive. Those are some great pictures! I might give that much for the aeroplane.
At $22k I can get 4 or 5 of them in almost as good a shape! There's 8 of this body style in the local craigslist...
i actually owned the same car once,. i put 16" trans am rims on it,. i sold it for 1800,. looks like i mebbe should have kept it,. i have an 85 parisienne wagon if anybody wants it,..
Crying shame that it has the Olds 307 and not the Chevy 305. I've owned both, and would pass just because of that gutless motor. Wonder if it's burning oil yet.....
Small price concession. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Oth...d=100204&rk=3&rkt=25&mehot=pp&sd=251903076930
