This is an interesting car. I can't say I ever heard of a Dual-Ghia before. Here's what Wikipedia, the source of all knowledge, has to say about it: Dual-Ghia is a rare, short-lived, automobile make, produced in the United States between 1956 and 1958. The idea for Dual-Ghia came from Eugene Casaroll, who formed Dual Motors in Detroit, Michigan to build an exclusive car at a moderate price. The design was based on an earlier show-car of Chrysler, named the Firearrow, which had been designed by Virgil Exner. The Dual-Ghia car was designed by Chrysler. The design was fairly conservative with single headlamps and slab-sided features, avoiding fins and other styling gimmicks. A four-place convertible was the only offering. A Dodge frame and drive-train was transported to Italy, where the bodywork was fabricated by the Italian Coachbuilder Ghia. Performance was excellent, due to the cars being powered by the small 315 cu in (5.2 L) Dodge hemispherical-head short-stroke V-8 engine. But at $495,000 I think I'll pass. Either this is one low-slung car, or one tall girl. If only I had my '64 CS, Cat! I could lure this young lady from her sugar daddy in an instant.
I agree. I am your typical red blooded, heterosexual, American male. But, if I'm interested in buying a car, I don't want to see a "model" blocking my view of the vehicle.
My wife said our shower curtains look better than that dress. I can't afford the car or the house so at least we have something to look at. Oh I can't afford THAT either.
I actually like the early 60's Dual Ghia better. They were only made in coupe form. The one with the custom headlights above belonged to Dean Martin. Apparently every one in the "Rat Pack" had one. But the only one I could ever afford was this one by Corgi.
I love that style of a car. I'm sure I saw one or two back around central Illinois years ago. I couldn't even afford a Karmin Ghia or spell it.
Much nicer design than the little kid wearing the red curtain. My wife still says I can't have anything on this thread except maybe the wrench. At first I thought she said wench and I got all excited!
