One other thing. If you and/or your wife (or any other driver in your house hold) have had any at-fault accidents, they will most likely not insure you. I had checked with American Collectors, which is who I had my 69 Cougar insured with. They would not insure my Montego wagon because both my wife and my daughter had at-fault accidents. The only way that Haggerty would insure the Montego was if we signed an agreement that my wife and my daughter would not drive the Montego.

I mentioned it for two reasons-
You said you'd wait to get classic insurance until you had classic tags. You could put it on classic insurance right now and start saving.

Also, I though that I heard classic tags in PA came with some pretty serious restrictions on how the vehicle is used. If that's true and you want to drive more, you could still have classic insurance, even with regular tags.

Here in CT, we have property tax on vehicles. Cars with classic tags are assessed at $500 so the tax savings is huge! We still have to pay for registration every two years, but we have no restrictions on vehicle usage.

All of my cars have wheels. The wheels go round and round. When I worked I drove them to work. When I want bread or milk I drive to the grocery store. When I want hardware I drive to the store. I drive to car shows, swap meets, yard sales, camping, to visit Zeke and wherever I want to I drive.
As my second, third, etc cars I get cheaper insurance, I also park in a garage and haven't been arrested for speeding or having an accident.
One has year of man. plate, one has antique, others regular tags.
    Always have. Always will.

Classic tags have changed. You no longer have to send pictures to get the plates and I saw no mileage restrictions. They consider "driving 1 day a week" their deal.

I did not switch to "classic' insurance simply because I HAVE to drive it daily for 2-4 weeks(and the plates will take that long). I do not want to in this slop BUT I cannot drive a salvage titled vehicle legally either. If I buy a beater I will not get another car that I want.
