    Even though I'm a big railfan and model railroader, I have never seen a tank engine set up in this manner from a railroad locomotive; something like that is usually a purpose-built traction engine.

    It is amazing the ways they moved logs many years ago. I'm sure there were a lot of deaths and injuries.

    People are still recovering Cypress logs from the Suwannee River in this area. Supposedly they just get harder and are still usable.
    Lots of steamers and paddle boats sank in the river because of shallow areas and logs below the serface.
    There are still rumors of buried treasure in the area. The old Treasure Camp bar where we used to hang out still has pilings in the river where they tried to devert water to find treasure chests. They only found a few items.
    Over the years the fast the moving river has changed courses and cut new banks on curves so the treasures supposedly hidden are long gone. Makes good conversation while drinking beer. :drink:
