Wagons in vintage Street scenes

1976 - 1972 Gran Torino wagon that was replaced by a '76 base Torino wagon when this one started to rust

 

This appears to be the one-of-a-kind 1940 LaSalle station wagon that was built by Meteor for Ralph and Matilda Dodge Wilson and....the car still exists.

 

I was thinking the same thing! I actually sent this photo to a couple of my friends. I can't hardly believe some of those cars were offered for sale in Yakima. Purty neat stuff.

 

This brings back an early memory....
In his retirement in the late 50's / early 60's, Hop-Along Cassidy did demonstration shows with his horse and trick ropes. He was more than just a movie star. Came to my elementary school and wowed all us kids.

I was just there last year. Probably pass through again in the next two weeks. Hope I don't miss the sign.

 

The top picture is the definition of the name "station wagon." They were originally made for the railroads to drive passengers, freight and mail to and from the railroad station. They began to fall out of favor when more people owned cars, taxis became more popular and the USPO and the express freight agencies had their own vehicles to bring and take away mail and freight. The '59 I want, and the stretch of highway looks to be near Banks Lake/Steamboat Rock State Park in North Central

 

We had a Pastor at our Parrish for years named Lane. I wonder if there is a family connection?
