LOL...I hear THAT, CE! The only reason I say $1200 is because it's not rusty.

Yeah, I thought 1200 was ironic, because whenver people offer to buy mine (and promise they won't demo it) 1200 is my price.

    Whats the asking price?

I gave $1300 for mine and everystuff works. Plus its got a treefitty under the hood, not a pusser 307. No offence to your motor CE, your ride is cool, yes, even the spokes and whites :thumbs2:

Well....depends on the day and the site you go to. It has been listed at $3597, $2497, $1997...and when it went to 1997 I jumped in and tried to get info and cut the price...the price went back UP to 2497! Right now I was told it is still flutuating somewhere between 25 and 35. Of course, that does NOT include the $400 bend over fee!

:oops:mg:$2500-3500 for that clapped out roach wagon? $500 would be my final offer. And that would include the bendover fee.

Yeah...you will have to spend a lot of money on that wagon. And what people fail to remember is that if you want it to GO..at all..you will need to get rid of the doggie 307. They last a long time, are good runners and if you don't mind waiting for 6 miles of clear road to pass someone...well...then these engines may be OK for you.

Sorry to say it, but before I would dump any money into it, I would use it for a winter beater and drive the tires off it. The only upgrades would be studded snow tires, white lettered ofcourse, ditch the caps and whitewalls and put a CD player in it. Probably even bolt a ladder rack to the roof for work too. :rofl2:

She is no gem and be a good beater car. Hell wouldnt have to worry about ripping up the headliner when I tossed tools in the back of her.

Bottom line for me is...I'm hoping against hope that it stays at the price it's at now and doesn't sell. I would love for them to have to sell it for the lowest figure. Last time I looked it was $1225 which really makes it $1642.

These people on ebay are nuts. That RUSTY 90 Buick is up to $3050 and it still has 15 hours to go! What do they see in this car that I don't? Can they not see that this car has been doctored up? Did they not see the black paint under the doors hiding its long and rusty life. I even like how the seller has the wax and cleaner in the background of the pictures. I mean you can polish a turd all you want, but it is still going to be a turd.

    LMAO at 84Pari ! :biglaugh:

Hey CE...no battle here at all. I like your car and I liked my '88 Electra...but...c'mon my friend...that 307 isn't gonna set any land speed records. I believe it to be the slowest V-8 over 300 cui ever built. Especially the later models with the swirled heads.

I dunno about that, I had a couple really putred 302's in my day, the worst was my 84 TBI LTD Crown Vic, what a damn joke that motor was. Ive also been in some G-Body 307 Cutlass's that had plenty of nut. The 307 is deffinatly a low HP motor, but they make up for they lack in torque. HP is speed, where Torque is what it takes to get it rolling. They are asking alot from them in these battle barges we love, but I couldnt imagine a 305 chevy in one.

Also, dont forget the miscarriage of GM, the Pontiac 301. Now that was a puke of a engine that should have NEVER been mass produced. The 260 Olds was a more powerful motor then a 301.

Yeah,,,the 200-4R tranny will get things out pretty well...very low first gear and then it depends on the rear gears too. That Cutlass you speak of... a lot lighter than a wagon.

Well yeah. I had a 76 Malibu with a 305, blew a heater hose and cooked it down. I picked up a 83 Bonniville with a 307 and droipped it in. It would move that car like it had a 350 in it. That car was over 5500lbs and it had no issues humpin it down the road and buring the 120mph speedo, the 305 could never do that. A 307 is a turd, but its not the worst small cubed motor over 300 cubes, not by far. The 301 gets my vote, followed by a 302 FORD, then a 318 Lean Burn, then 307, then 305.
