    I'm seeing a grandstand and a carnival ride in the background, so this pic would have been taken at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona. Radio station KMPC was a pioneer in helicopter traffic reporting, at one time having a whole fleet of them. It was the station to tune into if you needed to find out if your travel route was congested. Many a time I was able to redirect to avoid a back-up.

    GTW - any idea what track that pic was taken at? Kinda looks like Laguna Seca in Monterey.....

    OK - I've seen some other pics from there. They used to run some SCCA races on the L.A. County fairgrounds - using mostly the parking lot. Same property as the Pomona Drag Strip now. Fairgrounds are still there, too.
