I have to be careful because if I take too long on a project it gets that snowball effect of I will take this off while I am at it and next
thing you know all I will have is a shell. That's why I think I will concentrate on getting it running and rest later.

Does sound tempting though and besides my dad thinks I'm throwed off anyway so I may be able to get away with stealing his motor!

    Hi
I have the same wagon, as you know 1tireman, and believe me, if I showed you more pictures that are um less flattering shall we say, than the garage pic, then you would change your mind about whether yours is worth persevering.
I love mine again today..it's been sitting for a year and I took it for it's annual inspection - and it came so close to passing - I have to source a RHS park brake cable and fit a mandatory UK high-intensity rear fog lamp - but there are many MORE rusty spots around the rear side windows; the rear-most left pillar has a little hole in it; the rear window scraper seal has completely perished as have most of the sides; the paint is bad; the headlining sags; the upholstery needs putting through a washing machine; someone has been 'creative' with some electrics under the dash..did I mention the dash top has cracked..the door bottoms (not the panels, the 'undersides') are all shot and rotted through, needing a LOT of steelwork...? But you know, my options for one of these cars are so limited over here, that if I want to enjoy this kind of motoring where gas is $3.50 PER LITRE, ("5.0 V8, 19mpg?? Are you CRAZY?" I get asked all the time) then I have to put the work in....I guess what I'm saying is that I'm insanely jealous my friend, and I'm watching your progress closely and hoping you love yours like I love mine... :)

Thanks for the encouragement lowtime and everyone else and the more I look around the more I like mine. It has
just been hard to get motivated lately but just seemed like I had a burst of energy this weekend and kinda excited
again about it. Maybe has something to do with I am cheap as I get older and I have been busting my hump to save
up enough to buy a used wagon but have constantly talked myself out of spending the money and I will get off cheaper
even buying some extra things I want for my wagon than buying one of the few wagons I found in my price range.

Perhaps you could keep this thread going. You could post up all your baby steps and we(Cat) could encourage you, much like he did for Dewey(about his interior).

Thanks everyone and I will try to keep moving forward with THIS project. I have never giving up on a project but this is as close as I ever come to giving up and just buying something done. In the next few weeks I will set the motor down in it then move it inside and believe things will move better from there.
4 more days will be 3 years I owned it and another one of my mess ups, I got a bill of sale and the signed title but never did anything with it. So today I went and seen the title clerk at work (worried about the paper work) and found out penalties and interest on it will cost me about $140. That was a relief because I thought it may end up a big problem but I can handle that but it was a $140 I could have spent elsewhere on it but another baby step to getting back on track.

Way to go! Making a lot of progress. Man, I'm jealous of you guys wearing short-sleeve shirts outside - we just broke a record for coldest March day in KC's history - yay.....

It got to 74 degrees today, rain coming in tonight. We have Tuesday off for Mardi Gras so if I can talk Morgan out of going to the parade I may get my plugs, wires and starter on but if not I am going to keep plugin' along and hopefully it will make it to Crusin' the Coast this year. This is the most progress I made in the last 3 years this last couple weeks.

    Nice work Dennis and crew!:yahoo:
How many rednecks does it take to paint an engine bay?:rofl2:
My wife asked why your wife wasn't helping. I told her there wasn't room in that engine space for anyone else.
It was over 80 degrees, calm, and sunny here today. Could have painted an entire wagon.

I think my dad may have been a motivational speaker in a previous life but he is mixed up with his current construction job so he tries to motivate me all wrong! Just so you know telling someone to get their Fat A$$ out the way because he can do it quicker is not very motivating! :rofl2::rofl2:
