Hi there folks, I just found this forum last night. I hope you enjoy the pictures of my 1973 Ford Country Sedan. I got it back in August, The paint is original(except for the right rear q.panel.) It's got 111,000 miles so far but when I got it the engine was in really bad shape(sat too much, and short little 'ol lady trips Cracked head, burned valve, rotten headgaskets and freeze plugs and a main bearing knock.). I bit the bullet and put a Jasper engine in it. I guess you can say I gave it the "gift of life" for Christmas. Nice to meet you all.

My first two wagons were a 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood and a 1973 Chevrolet Impala wagon. I had the 69 from Nov. 97 till June 05. The 73 I had from Aug 1999 till August 2004. I am usually more of a GM guy.,but I felt this Ford was too cool to let die, what was cool about the Ford was how many original parts were still on it. Shocks, battery cable, lower radiator hose, coil,it was a little bit like a time capsule. I put more into it than I planned to but it's turned out good so far.

For me, FORD is the Dark side. I grew up a Bow Tie man and will die one. I worked as a FORD Mechanic for 11 years and we wont go there. I have had 3 FORDs in my 20 years of driving.

This is one FORD that I would be happy to have in the drive! One Beautiful Wagon you have here!

    oh-oh.:boxing:
Anyway...I'm more of a GM guy but I have owned Fords too and liked them. I have a Lincoln Mark VII right now that has the Mustang drive train. But...I find something interesting that Blackfoot said....I have a friend who was a Ford Mechanic for 10 years or so and he won't buy a Ford either. OTOH...if you guys would have been GM mechanics...maybe you would be driving Fords now.:) I think there are certain cars that are good and bad on both fronts. I love a lot about some Fords and some GMs.

Very true. If I was a GM Mechanic, I would probably say the same thing about GM. Being a part time shadetree mechanic and working on my own GMs doesnt count, I was doing it for fun and maintence. I loved wrenching on my factory 360 powerd 73 Valiant 4 door sedan. But that was to make it go faster in the 1/4 mile.
