Possibly a sporting event, when it is over, everyone returns to their cars, and waits for the log jam to open. I would want to be the last one into that lot, and the first one out. Back then, people had more patience for their fellow man than they do today.

Some of those larger parking lots look impossible. I remember when drive in movies were almost like demo derbies with everyone wanting to be first out.
Maybe someone will post more of these parking nightmares.

    With apologies to Joni Mitchell:

They dug out the parking lot and put up a paradise of high rise living probably.

I have parked in a tiny lot in San Francisco and my car always ends up buried in the back. Getting it out is like a Rubik's Cube - the attendants are pretty skillful.

thanks for the answers :) that's what i suposed but in the 60's in france you cant find any park because there were not enough cars for filling :biglaugh:

70's to present more but not like that, you can get out when you want.

50's, you find cars in cities and ....... horses otherplace :D

The taxi in the video in post #10325 is a DKW. There were station wagon versions as well.

I do remember seeing a few DKW's around in LA in the 60's... have no idea who imported or sold them.

I believe that's Andy Granatelli in the driver's seat there. He passed away yesterday at the age of 90. He set some speed records in that Avanti on the Bonneville salt flats. (I think he went over 200 IIRC....)
