We've had about 10 cm (6 inches) in the last 36 hours or so, and this is supposed to be the snow belt! I really NEED a good, rear wheel drive beast to drive. I don't trust this little FWD, 4 cyl. POS I am driving now, even on snow tires!

We got about 6" in the Northeast corner of Connecticut, and it took me about 5 hours to clear my very long driveway. Broke the drive chain on my Kubota tractor mounted snowblower, and had to switch over to the blade. It was a very heavy snow, with almost 1" of ice on top of it. This is what stressed the blower to break the chain. Made up another chain today, but it was so cold that I didn't put it one. My mistake, since they are predicting 6" - 12" tomorrow. I will be out there first thing in the morning and putting the chain on. This last storm was the first one of the season, and I am already getting tired of the snow. As a child, I love the snow, as an adult, I tolerated the snow, as a senior citizen, I hate it. Arizona is looking better for a winter home every year. Would have already done it, if it were not for the dogs. They don't want to leave New England. :biglaugh:

We got about the same with a layer of ice, as you did Junk. I started cooking some bacon and eggs around 7:30, looked out the window and there was one of the neighbours already out warming up the tractor. Hubby hardly spoke through breakfast, just shovelled the food in so he could get outside...:disagree:...men! He was outside playing...I mean cleaning up the yard and steps with the other guys most of the day.
Me, I stayed in the house all day decorating the tree, a little house work...stuff like that. It was a pretty day we didn't get the wind they had predicted and that was ok with me. It was slow going to work this morning. The roads were like a wash board with all the ice, but we made it and they were cleared off really well by the time we went home.
And like GN says they're calling for a bit more Wednesday about 15cm and they're watching a storm forming for the weekend...I got to work next weekend, should be fun. :yup:
Sounds like alot of you had a messy weekend.
