Yeah, I watched the episode. Kinda sad, really.........

At least in the TV show, it's clear Richard Rawling's passion is money, not cars. He paid $5,000 for the wagon, invested (IIRC) $15,000 or so in the build (almost all of it in the engine compartment), and sold it for $42,000.

Now thinking back on the episode, I'm pretty sure that the build and purchase were set up in advance - a 'made for TV' thing.

i agree with ya krash that richard is the money man but i believe Aaron is the real deal car guy. when i went there this summer it was richard walking around smoozing and Aaron on the side of the building washing cars. plus i was just happy to see a wagon . it was little gaudy to me with the blower out of the hood but too each his own. scripted or not they got boo koo bucks for the wagon, wish i could do that

Yes, I agree Aaron knows his stuff. The show should be based around him, and use RR for the comedic effect. He kinda reminds me of Daffy Duck

I was wondering how long it would be until somebody here commented on that. Overall it's not my cup of tea with the mailbox sticking out of the hood, but it turned out better than I thought. Worst case all of the modifications are pretty easily reversible. Just take the blower and side pipes off and put a new hood on it. I was waiting for an uproar if they upgraded the suspension or put wheels larger than 15" on it

Richard is a "Dick"...he knows how to take a perfectly-good car and booger it up to something that belongs in a cartoon. Although I see they did NOT give into their usual temptation to lower, bag, and otherwise butcher a good ride; plus some of their interior choices leave a LOT to be desired. Who really gets interior work done in a day or two? No one.

I agree, the "buyer" was in place long before the completion of the car. No one is his right mind is going to spend a grand on logos and such in "hopes" of a sale. More so-called "reality tv" bull$#!t.

richard doesn't build the cars and most of his comments are about the money.

Dick is the money man, therefore, his ideas are the ones that get used. He probably couldn't build a car with directions, anyway. His tastes, or lack of, show that.

sorry to disagree with you but if you watch the show you will see that richard or dick as you say only has the control of buying the cars .Aaron is the one who usually dictates the build with Dick complaining it costs to much or takes too long

I watched this show, Ken told me about it. I hated to see such as nice and original car modified, but at least it wasn't too much of a modification... the hood was finished though. :)

It looked like the car had a 402 engine... I wonder what they done with that original engine? I need it!

The car looked interestingly optioned. It didn't have the 3rd seat or tilt wheel, but it looked like it had cruise control and definitely had the power gate option, as well as A/C. I didn't see any other power options such as power windows or locks.

Think logically here - Dick has the money, Dick also has the control of the build. Besides, Aaron doesn't demonstrate a hell of a lot of ability, either; nor does the "crew" that lolligags around, doing squat. No wonder Dick bitches about things. See where I'm at here??? Yeah, I've watched the show. Regrettably...

That '63 Dodge Sweptline "build" is a perfect example - stuff a Crown Vic sub under it, a high-mile, unknown-quality 6.0L GM drivetrain, and a Ford 9" (not even a trac-loc! - Yeah, I know, not the Ford term, but...!) rear under it, and it does single-leg burnouts! And, this kills me, they disassemble the cab, bed, and doors, take them to the painter, where he scuffs the crappy paint and clearcoats over the damn "patina"!!! WTF??? Then, he trades the truck to his interior decorator at a supposed value of $40K!

Yeah, whatever. Anyone who takes their car to him deserves the end product. The episodes of "Ass Monkey Chop Shop and Daycare Center" are pure BS, like ALL so-called "reality TV"...

i am thinking logically ,think yo could take a $10,000 car and turn it into a what did they get $40,000 . Like OCC, coddington, foose GMG has a certain build style and people obviousely are willing to pay big bucks to get their cars . whether or not you like their style is your choice but they do have a really nice new shop, where very friendly when we where there . if you watch the show who made the decision to junk the caddy or get rid of the pantera before they started wasting more money?

yrs ago Dick and Aaron had a disagreement let's say with another website . didnt really leave me warm and fuzzy about them but meeting them in person, seeing the shop, thier texas hospitality left me with a different outlook about them. like they say there is an ass for every seat and they seem to be able to find people with big asses to pay big buck$
