]f forum members remember, this past spring I was riding around my local and not so local area knocking on doors , shamelessly asking people who had roadies sitting in their driveways if they would be interested in selling either then or in the future.

Everybody said no.....except one older gentleman who wavered slightly. I sensed an opening and went for the kill!.

But all was not so smooth and simple in stationwagonland.....:slap:

He wasnt quite ready to part with it and everytime I rode by I would stop in and feel him out. Just remind him I was still interested, wrote down my number again, smiled, shook his hand and always thanked him for his time.

But he was always just teetering on the fence and I wished I knew that magic words that would send him over to the dark side. But, try as I might all my smiles and honeyed words were not parting the car from him.......yet.

He had been told by the mechanic at the stealership that the car was pretty much junk, it would take a huge infusion of cash to keep her going, break lines, fuel lines and rotted floors.
    And goodness knows what else.

He would be much better off just buying a new car like the journey we happen to have one right over here, could be in your driveway in a blink of an eye. Why trouble yourself with that old car?

When I stopped back in the fall, he seemed tired and he and his wife were thinking of selling thier house, too much work and upkeep for them, both elderly and just the 2 of them.

He was ready now to give up the car. In the spring he wanted quite a bit more for the car, now he couldnt care less. We agreed on the price, wrote out the bill and I came back a few days later anddrove the car home.

She was a dream. I couldnt even tell if the car was still running at stoplights. Yes, the breaks were dodgy and there were certainly a few holes in the floors. Put she was repaired and now we are happily cruising together, smug in our automotive superiority.

Persistence overcomes resistance. Best of luck with your new Roadie. Got any pictures? What color is it?

You paid $300 for that? I hope the local law enforcement officials don't find out. You'll be arrested for grand theft auto. What a deal!!

That, my friends , is a very well cared for all optioned, leather interior, roadmaster that was a princely sum of 300.00.

Came with service records as well. Even though maybe I feel guilty.....did I push him or just get him when he was ready......at least I saved a wagon from the sad and tragic end of a demo derby.

The dog was free!!!!!! I gave her a forever home at the age of six. She has many many bite scars on the head, torn ear and several missing teeth. But she is having a loving and cared for life with me.

    Kinda like the car, no?......:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Shnizzle you are amazing. The doggie is priceless and the wagon looks great. Most likely some minor work and it will be a great safe vehicle.
Being a slick talking, most likely good lookin female I'd most likely sell anything I have to you after a few visits. :49::evilsmile:
Shamelessly at times like those my wife wears her hot pants and a low blouse, smiles a lot, and flirts. It just ain't fair to us old guys!:biglaugh:
By the way I'll give your $600 but won't wear hot pants while we wheel and deal. :rofl2:
