No Military service, just (un)lucky enough to NEVER own a vehicle for which they make patch panels. NEVER EVER! So, living in New York with its winter salt, I've become pretty good at making patches. Thanks for the kudos!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
I think all wagon owners share that plight - no patch panels, except maybe the Nomad guys. That's why your 'show and tell' is so appreciated here! If you get stuck, check the HAMB and Hotrod mag's old issues for 'sheetmetal' or 'bodywork'. By the looks of it, you could be writing their next article.
Hows the project going Im anxious to see new pics. Do you know were to get the clips for the side window trim?
I have a local place I can get most clips, but try restoration specialties... they advertise in hemmings motor news, and have a pretty extensive selection of clips. Work has been stagnant lately... hopefully I'll get some updates posted soon. Adam

cool work! I posted my clamshell wagon in the restoration section today. When I get to the body stage I'll post pics of that. Im going to have a shop do it. I had a "buddy" start it and all he did was remove the trim around rear windows and tailgate area. I swear, it's an art to find the right people to work on your car. I live in an apartment, have a toddler, and wife's pregant......so those are my excuses to not do it myself. Your pics are priceless to me. Thanks a bunch man!
Somehow I didn't got notified by email that there was a follow-up in this thread.... Good work... decided my Wagon is next this coming winter: arrived yesterday are the re-chromed bumpers and I found NOS woodgrain. Keep up the good and inspiring work

Tsynek, this is a fantastic thread on dealing with rust in clamshell window channels. This rust is much more severe than what I am dealing with, so the way of dealing with it had to involve some metal work. Aornest is a very talented metal worker, and he has done a masterful job on his wagon. The results are amazing. Check it out from the beginning! David
Well, her it is. Only some minor line work to do, but we have primer! If only my picture skills matched the metal work... soryy for the dark shots. Now on to the rest of her!
