And now a murder in Pasadena Ca.

And now a murder in Pasadena Ca., October 17, 1955. The address, 1180 Arden Road. 19 year-old Jack Hawley kills his mother, 45 year-old Iris Hawley, then tries to commit suicide. These pictures and captions are from the L.A. Police Department or from the L.A. Times or some other reporting agency. I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

    Another Woodie

This Woodie drives by while the film crew is filming Sunset Boulevard. In this scene Norma Desmond takes Joe Gillis to a haberdasher for new clothes. [IMG]

On March 9, 1953, Barbara Graham murdered a sweet-looking 63-year-old matron Mabel Monohan from Burbank, Ca.
The jury found her guilty and on 10-12-1954 she entered San Quentin. And that led to an Oscar for Susan Hayward for her
portrayal of Barbara Graham in ''I Want to Live'' 1958.
And now to what I was leading up to, take a look at the Mercury wagon that carried Barbara Graham to the electric chair, pretty cool huh.
Hey i'm having a hard time finding wagons
I think all you other guys got all of them. I'll keep looking........

The original Angel's Flight was a landmark funicular railway in the Bunker Hill
district of Downtown Los Angeles, California.
For those not a native or have never been to Los Angeles.

Cheryl Christina Crane (born July 25, 1943 is the only child of actress Lana Turner. On April 4, 1958, at age 14, Cheryl Crane stabbed her mother's boyfriend Johnny Stompanato to death. The killing was ruled a justifiable homicide, Crane was deemed to have been protecting her mother. Johnny Stompanato aka ''Handsome Harry'' among others was so jealous that he stormed onto a movie set where Lana was working, and pointed a gun at actor Sean Connery, her costar in Another Time, Another Place, only to have Connery take the gun from him, beat him, and force him from the movie set. So after the court made the ruling justifiable homicide, The Stompanato's family sued Turner for $7 million dollars; The gangster Mickey Cohen supposedly paid the family's legal costs because Johnny and Mickey were such good friends.
The case was finally settled out of court.[IMG]

Just checked this location on Google Earth. I've driven by it many times. The building with the 'Mayflower Ballroom' sign on top is still standing (but no sign).

There used to be more buildings all around Angel's Flight, as well. it went up what would've been a very steep street in between many tenement buildings. It now has many buildings around it again, and is pretty much shrouded in them. Poor and Middle Class people lived at the bottom of the hill and Rich people and businesses were at the top. For some, Angel's Flight and walking was their commute to work. Bunker Hill(the top)used to be the Beverly Hills neighborhood before WW2. Now there's nothing but high-rise office buildings up there.
